• District Based Virtual Learning Programs

Learn more about how Mineola and Valley Stream school districts have facilitated our virtual learning programs for their students.

    Virtual Courses for Students

The Center for Online Learning is pleased to offer a wide-variety of virtual courses for districts that are able to provide their own Teacher of Record for course facilitation.

A district must belong to the Center for Online Learning CoSer (409) in order to access COL content. This subscription entitles districts with full access to COL offerings as per the COSER description in the 91Â鶹¾«Æ· Directory of Services.

Important Note: ," stipulates that all Credit Recovery options require that instruction is provided by or under the direction and/or supervision of:

    1. a certified teacher from the school district in which the student is enrolled; or
    2. a certified teacher from a board of cooperative educational services (91Â鶹¾«Æ·) that contracts with the school district to provide instruction in the subject area where authorized pursuant to Education Law section 1950; or
    3. a certified teacher from a school district who provides instruction in the subject area under a shared service agreement

     Florida Virtual School Partnership

District teachers must hold a current Buzz Teacher License ($94/year) to facilitate these courses. This license provides the teacher with access to the Buzz Learning System (LMS)  through which students participate. Said license also allows teachers to facilitate additional courses with all students (even those not enrolled in the original course) at no extra cost. Teachers already possessing a Buzz license for the current school year do not need to purchase an additional Buzz teacher license.

First-time users of the Buzz Learning Management System will participate in a 3-day blended training ($350) to enable them to navigate, edit and enhance the course content and instruction.
