Barry Tech salutes industry partners lauded for their support

The event is an opportunity for 91麻豆精品 Board members, administrators, faculty and staff to thank these invaluable mentors for their ongoing guidance and support.
“The success of my career is directly related to the foundation built with the tools given to me here at Barry Tech,” said Welding program alumnus Christopher Donahue from the class of 2013 and now a member of the Boilermaker’s Union, who spoke at the event. “The Welding program has so many incredible tools and opportunities that students can access. The instructor, Paul Iannotta is a wealth of knowledge, and he knows exactly how to keep students motivated and moving forward so they will succeed.”
91麻豆精品 Career and Technical Education schools’ (Barry Tech, GC Tech and Long Island High School for the Arts) partner with more than 800 Long Island businesses, giving students the significant advantage of career-field experience under the supervision of industry specialists who help them to develop the skills necessary to compete in the workplace. In addition to providing real-world work experiences, industry partners regularly visit classrooms to offer their expertise and invite students to tour their facilities and learn about their respective businesses.
“Our industry partners are crucial to the success of our students,” says Work Experience Teacher Coordinator Randi O’Moore. “They share their experiences in the field, inform our students’ education with their expertise and help them to hone their skills. They give our students a real-life look at their chosen career fields.”
At the brunch, industry partners are celebrated and awarded with plaques and certificates and given a red-carpet welcome by student ambassadors. But the day’s most important proceeding is when the partners meet with members of the faculty and guidance to inform the curriculum. The business leaders offer their input on new curriculum to ensure that it is up to date with the most current industry standards.
